Rebekka Ziegler

Rebekka Salomea Ziegler (born October 2, 1991 in Herbolzheim ) is a German jazz musician (vocals, composition).

Career

Ziegler grew up in Schwanau and Lahr / Black Forest . In 2011 she graduated from the Max-Planck-Gymnasium in Lahr. In 2013 she enrolled at the University of Music and Dance in Cologne , where she studied jazz and pop singing with Susanne Schneider, Anette von Eichel and Sebastian Gramss, among others . Since then she has been composing and writing the lyrics for her band Salomea Project , whose debut album Salomea was released in 2018 by Klaeng Records .

Between 2014 and 2017 she was a member of the Federal Jazz Orchestra and worked with musicians such as Niels Klein , Jiggs Whigham , John Hollenbeck and Sissel Vera Pettersen . In 2015 she founded the a cappella formation Of Cabbages and Kings together with Veronika Morscher , Sabeth Pérez and Laura Totenhagen , with which she released the album Aura in 2018 .

Rebekka Ziegler's musical role models are Sharon Jones , Ella Fitzgerald , Billie Holiday and Erykah Badu .
