Regina Litvinova

Regina Litvinova ( Russian Регина Литвинова , Regina Litvinova ; * 1979 ) is a Russian jazz pianist .

Career

Litvinova first studied classical piano with Eduard Sjomin in Moscow . There Yuri Chugunov and Gennadi Strelnik also had their first jazz experiences. In 2001 she switched to Professor Joerg Reiter at the University of Music and Performing Arts Mannheim and continued her studies there. She completed her degree in Jazz Piano in Mannheim in 2006 with the top grade. She completed a postgraduate course with Richie Beirach at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University of Music and Theater in Leipzig .

With the drummer Christian Scheuber and the bassist Markus Schieferdecker she formed the Regina Litvinova extreme trio . She also appears in a duo with Stephan Urwyler . With Christian Scheuber she belongs to the New Richie Beirach Trio .

Awards and appearances

In 2002 Litvinova won the 1st Young Jazz Award Tübingen in the soloist category up to 25 years. In 2009 she was a semi-finalist in the Montreux Jazz Solo Piano Competition . In the jazz category, her piece “Grizzly's” received the “Honorable Mention” award at the 2011 “International Songwriting Competition” (ISC).
