Regino Hernández (born July 25, 1991 in Ceuta ) is a Spanish snowboarder . He starts in snowboard cross.

Career

Hernández first took part in a World Cup race in Chapelco in September 2008 , which he finished in 28th place in snowboard cross. At the Snowboard World Championships 2009 in Gangwon , he finished 24th. At his first Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver in 2010 , he finished 31st. In January 2011 he came 37th at the 2011 Snowboard World Championships in La Molina . He achieved his first international success at the following Junior World Championships in Valmalenco . There he won gold in snowboard cross. He finished 38th at the 2013 Snowboard World Championships in Stoneham . At the beginning of the 2013/14 season he achieved a top ten placement in the World Cup for the first time in Lake Louise with fourth place in snowboard cross. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , he finished 21st. In March 2014 he took his first podium finish in La Molina with third place. He finished the season in 13th place in the snowboard cross ranking. In the following season he finished 18th in the World Cup twice and in fifth place once and thus reached 11th place in the Snowboard Cross World Cup. The FIS Snowboarding World Championships 2015 at Kreischberg he finished ninth. In March 2017 he and Lucas Eguibar won the silver medal in the team competition at the Snowboard World Championships in Sierra Nevada . He also won 33rd place in the individual competition. In the 2017/18 season, he achieved tenth place in the Snowboard Cross World Cup with four top ten placements. He also won the team competition in Montafon together with Lucas Eguibar and took third place in Veysonnaz . At the season highlight, the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , he won the bronze medal in snowboard cross.
