Regional 2010
The Regionale 2010 was up 2,010 from the Cologne / Bonn region aligned Regional . The cities of Cologne , Bonn and Leverkusen and the districts Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis , Oberbergischer Kreis , Rhein-Erft-Kreis and Rhein-Sieg-Kreis were involved . Under the motto building bridges , 53 projects were developed in the areas of education , mobility and nature , some of which were networked across municipal and district boundaries.
In 2009 it was awarded the National Prize for Integrated Urban Development and Building Culture by the Federal Ministry of Transport .
Under the slogans Rhenish World Exhibition and Travel Home, there is a program that presents the regional projects to the public in events. The region is presented in 8 volumes in a book series Journeys in Home .
# 01 Region green
City of Cologne, Rhein-Erft-Kreis, Rheinisch Bergischer Kreis
The new construction of the Belvedere Landscape Park is one of several projects to create and connect green spaces.
# 02 Green C
City of Bonn, Rhein-Sieg district
The “ Green C ” links the open spaces in the north of the city of Bonn and creates bridges over the Rhine. The framework for the area is formed by Bonn, Alfter and Bornheim on the left bank of the Rhine and Niederkassel , Troisdorf and Sankt Augustin on the right .
# 04 New Bahnstadt Opladen
City of Leverkusen
Under the motto Neue Bahnstadt Opladen , a former company site was converted into a new city district.
# 05 City of Impuls Gummersbach
Oberbergischer Kreis
The reactivation of the Steinmüller site is a project for the new self-direction of the city of Gummersbach.
# 07 Design the city of Bergisch Gladbach
Rheinisch Bergischer Kreis
Under the motto three projects were combined within the city of Bergisch Gladbach:
- Redesign of the station area
- Redesign of the central pedestrian zone
- Disclosure of the Strunde
# 08 Ottoplatz

Redesign of Ottoplatz , a station forecourt of Cologne Messe / Deutz station.
# 10 Rheinboulevard
city Cologne
Opposite Cologne's old town, the Deutzer Ufer was redesigned as a Rhine boulevard .
# 19 Eitorf - leap to victory
Rhein-Sieg district
- Under this motto, the municipality of Eitorf has launched an urban development competition with the aim of upgrading the derelict railway areas and the station area in terms of urban planning and open space planning, as well as improving the crossing possibilities of the railway line in order to better connect the city center with the bank of the Sieg on the other side of the railway.

In the city association, joint, nature-related educational offers are planned at the following locations, especially for children and young people:
City of Koenigswinter
City of Erftstadt (coordination)
- Erftstadt coordinates activities in the cultural heritage category with partners from the region as far as the Eifel ; Namely, under the motto Römerstraße adventure space, the Römerstraße Trier-Cologne as Agrippa-Straße Köln-Trier should be brought back more into the consciousness of the people of the present.
Pulheim
- In the north-west green corridor , which connects the Cologne green belt and also the arms of the Old Rhine in the north of Cologne as one of the radial lines with the third green belt , the Rhineland Nature Park , the largely renatured Pulheimer Bach becomes a teaching and adventure trail with the new energies beyond the Glessener Höhe connected. We cooperate with Bergheim.
Oberbergischer Kreis
- Cycle route Wasserquintett , a circular cycle path connecting five dams , approx. 80 km long, partly on old railway lines from Marienheide via Wipperfürth , Hückeswagen and Radevormwald back to Marienheide.
Rhein-Sieg district
- The fishery museum of the Bergheim fisheries association in Troisdorf-Bergheim is being modernized with an extension and a new didactic orientation.
- The project “Nature and culture across the Sieg” closed the gaps in the Siegtal cycle path in May 2012 , which means that 59.3 km from Rosbach (Windeck) to the mouth of the Sieg can be used continuously.
Rhein-Erft district
- the municipalities of Bedburg , Bergheim and Elsdorf (Rhineland) , together with the Rhein-Erft district and with the support of RWE Power, are realizing a 14-kilometer leisure route along the former strip mine . In addition, with the Forum: terra nova, a viewing platform with a visitor information center is being built at the Hambach opencast mine .
