Regurgitate is a Grindcore or Goregrind band from Stockholm / Mjölby in Sweden .

history

The band was formed in 1990. In the beginning, Regurgitate was heavily influenced by Carcass . In contrast to Carcass, however, the band hardly has any Death Metal influences. An important influence on the music and the concept had numerous horror films from the 1970s, especially the films by director Lucio Fulci .

After the release of some demos , split albums and EPs , the first and for the time being only Regurgitate album was released in 1994 with the title Effortless Regurgitation of Bright Red Blood . Then the band members concentrate on their numerous other music groups in which they are / were active, such as u. a. Merciless , Entombed , Nasum , Unanimated and General Surgery .

In 1996 a split release was released, but it only contained old material from the previous album. It wasn't until the debut album was re-released in 1999 that the band started working. After a promo, the band received a permanent record deal with the American music label Relapse Records for the first time . All other publications appeared here with the exception of a few split publications.

In 2001 Bizarre Leprous Production released a tribute sampler with contributions from 46 music groups entitled Comeback of Goregods: Tribute to Regurgitate . Among others, the bands Inhume, Lymphatic Phlegm , Gore Beyond Necropsy and Haemorrhage are represented.
