Remi Joseph De Roo

Remi Joseph De Roo (born February 24, 1924 in Swan Lake ) is a Canadian clergyman and former bishop of Victoria .

Life

Remi Joseph De Roo was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Saint-Boniface on June 8, 1950 .

Pope John XXIII appointed him Bishop of Victoria on October 29, 1962 . The Archbishop of Saint-Boniface, Maurice Baudoux , ordained him episcopal on December 14th of the same year . Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Sherbrooke , Georges Cabana , and the Coadjutor Archbishop of Vancouver , Martin Michael Johnson .

As a council father, Remi Joseph De Roo took part in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .

On March 18, 1999, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
