Remo Ankli (born June 14, 1973 ; resident in Zullwil ) is a Swiss politician ( FDP ), member of the government council of the canton of Solothurn and head of the department for education and culture of the canton of Solothurn.

Life

Remo Ankli grew up in Beinwil and attended primary school there. After graduating from high school in Laufen , he began studying history at the Universities of Basel and Freiburg im Breisgau and graduated in 1999 with a licentiate in Basel. Ankli started his second degree in theology at the Universities of Basel and Freiburg im Üechtland and graduated in 2003 with a licentiate in Freiburg im Üechtland. In 2009 he received his doctorate theologiae with a dissertation on the Schwarzbubenland in the Kulturkampf in Freiburg im Üechtland . From 2010 to 2013 Ankli worked as party secretary of the FDP in the canton of Solothurn.

From 2001, Ankli was mayor of the municipality of Beinwil and from 2005 to Solothurn Cantonal Council . He has been a member of the government of the Canton of Solothurn since 2013. In 2017 he also held the office of the Solothurn Landammann .
