Renate Egger-Wenzel

Renate Egger-Wenzel (* 1961 in the Czech Republic ) is an Austrian theologian and university professor .

Life

Egger-Wenzel graduated as a qualified nurse in Altötting in 1983 and then worked at the hospital in Bad Reichenhall until 1985 . From 1986 to 1992 she studied Catholic theology at the University of Salzburg and at the Lucerne Theological Faculty , which she graduated as Mag. Theol. graduated from the University of Salzburg. In 1992 she began her doctoral studies , which she received in 1997 as Dr. theol. with the dissertation On God's Freedom to Be Different. The central role of chapters 9 and 10 for the job book at the Philosophical-Theological University Benediktbeuern was completed by the Old Testament scholar Otto Wahl . Her habilitation took place there in 2004 .

Egger-Wenzel is university professor for Old Testament biblical studies at the University of Salzburg and President of the International Society for the Study of Deuterocanonical and Cognate Literature (ISDCL).
