Renate Krauspe

Renate Krauspe (née Becher, born May 29, 1939 in Dessau ) is a German Egyptologist .

Renate Krauspe studied Egyptology and the history of religion at the University of Leipzig since 1957 . In 1961 she completed her studies with a diploma and became a research assistant at the Egyptological Institute of the University of Leipzig with Siegfried Morenz . She also took over the editing of the magazine for Egyptian language and antiquity , which she held until 1998. In 1966 the doctorate followed with a dissertation on the subject of " The procession of the cult image in ancient Egypt ". From 1978 until her retirement in 1999, Krauspe was custodian of the Egyptian Museum at Leipzig University .
