Luge World Championships 1963

The 1963 Luge World Championships took place on January 26th and 27th, 1963 in Imst , Austria .

Due to the rise in temperature from January 25th to January 26th, the train had become slower and the route was shortened.

Geisler already set the best time in the first two runs. Thurner followed behind. The South Tyrolean Erika Außenendorfer fell badly on January 26th, started with a torn muscle and was 3rd after the first day, but then fell to 6th (3: 07.45) behind the Polish Anna Zrobikowa (3:07, 13) back.

After the first day (January 26), Nachmann was already leading in front of Plenk, while Bonsack and Senn were third. In the late evening of January 26th, heavy snowfall prevented a third round of qualifications (it was canceled), so that there were only three rounds.
