Restauration bread is a lavishly sandwiched bread of German cuisine , with several layers of sausage , cheese , salad , eggs or fish , which is mainly offered in restaurants .

Topping and dosage form differ from region to region. In southern Baden, the restaurant bread is a hearty snack with homemade sausage and farmhouse bread, where the sausage plate and bread basket are served separately.
