Ricardo Maduro Joest (born April 20, 1946 in Panama ) was the President of Honduras from 2002 to 2006 .

Life

Ricardo Maduro is the son of a Panamanian and a Guatemalan , married to the Spanish woman Aguas Santas Ocaña Navarro de Maduro.

Ricardo Maduro Joest is a Honduran entrepreneur (in the agricultural and hotel sector) and politician. On January 27, 2002, he became the head of state and government of Honduras .

A president cannot be re-elected in Honduras. In the presidential elections on November 27, 2005, Manuel Zelaya , called Mel, was elected as Maduro's successor by the opposition PLH ( Partido Liberal de Honduras ).
