Richard Goedeke

Richard Goedeke (born April 21, 1939 ) is a German mountaineer , climber and author of climbing and area guides as well as reports on experiences.

Life

Richard Goedeke worked as a teacher ( senior teacher , subjects geography and English). He carried out numerous first ascents (approx. 1000) in his native Ith , Weserbergland and in the Dolomites (approx. 100) and is still active today.

Goedeke is a founding member and guarantor of Mountain Wilderness .

In his books he conveys his attitude towards environmental protection and the environmentally friendly use of the Alpine region. He condemns mass tourism on the mountain and is a supporter of clean climbing (mountaineering without leaving any traces).

Richard Goedeke has been involved in local politics in Braunschweig since 1981 . He was a council member of the faction of the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party from 1981 to 1985, 1993 to 1996 and 2003 to 2006.
