Richard Jordan (actor)
Richard Anson Jordan (born July 19, 1937 in New York - † August 30, 1993 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actor .
Life
Richard Jordan first studied at Harvard University before devoting himself to the theater. He starred in over a hundred plays on Broadway . In the eight years of his theater career, he also directed several times. He met his wife Kathleen Widdoes through the Joseph Papp's New York Shakespeare Festival , whom he married in 1964. Daughter Nina was born in 1966. However, the marriage lasted only eight years. From 1976 to 1985 he lived with Blair Brown ; the two had a son Robert. He was in a relationship with Marcia Cross until his death in 1993 .
After his theater engagements, Jordan made his first film appearance in 1971 in the film Lawman . From then on, he starred in a variety of well-known films throughout the 1970s and 1980s, but never received a major lead role.
Richard Jordan died in 1993 of a brain tumor.
Remarkable
In 1980 he played the role of Dirk Pitt in the film Lifts the Titanic . In 2005, the same character was played by Matthew McConaughey in the film Sahara Desert Adventure .
In 1993 Richard Jordan was offered a role in the movie On the Run with Harrison Ford , but he was already too sick to accept.
