Ringgenberg (Mels)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ringgenberg belongs to the village of Weisstannen, municipality of Mels . It is on the left in the Weisstannental, below the Alp Galans. The slope got its name from a semicircular rock face up to 80 m high, called the Ringgenstein. The first known property register dates from 1502. It is assumed that there were 70 to 80 inhabitants in the 18th and 19th centuries before depopulation for economic reasons took place in the 20th century (also here).
