Rita Pawelski b. Fiola (born October 29, 1948 in Rössing , today part of Nordstemmen ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and a former member of the German Bundestag .

From 2006 to 2013 she was Deputy Chairwoman of the Regional Economic Policy Subcommittee of the Committee on Economics and Technology of the German Bundestag.

Life and work

After attending school in Himmelsthür Rita Pawelski graduated from 1964 to 1967 a training for clerk . After retraining , she worked as a savings bank employee from 1969 to 1975 . She then worked as a housewife until 1983 and from 1983 to 1984 in an internship, an unpaid internship with television. She then worked as a freelance journalist until 1989 .

Rita Pawelski is a Roman Catholic , mother of two daughters and lives separated from her husband.

Political party

Rita Pawelski joined the Junge Union (JU) and the CDU in 1971 and was deputy chairwoman of the JU district association Hannover-Land from 1971 to 1975 . From 1982 to 1997 she was chairwoman of the Hanover regional association of the women's union and from 1996 to 2000 a member of the CDU federal executive committee . Rita Pawelski has been a member of the CDU state executive in Lower Saxony since 1986 and has been the first deputy chairwoman of the CDU district association in Hanover since 1997.

In 1996 and 2001 she was CDU candidate for the office of Lord Mayor of Hanover , but could not prevail against Herbert Schmalstieg (SPD) in each case .

Public offices

From 1972 to 1974 she was a member of the Misburg City Council. Between 1974 and 1981 she was a member of the district council of the Hanover-Misburg district. Since 1981 she was a member of the district council in Misburg-Anderten. From 1990 until the resignation of her mandate on October 23, 2002 after the election to the German Bundestag, Rita Pawelski was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament , where she was deputy chairwoman and women's policy spokesperson for the CDU parliamentary group from 1994 to 2002.

From 2002 to 2013 she was a member of the German Bundestag . Since January 2006 she has been an assessor on the board of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group and since March 2006 deputy chairwoman of the regional economic policy subcommittee of the committee for economics and technology. Rita Pawelski had entered the Bundestag three times via the Lower Saxony state list. In the general election in 2013 it did not happen again.

Pawelski is a member of the advisory board of the German Children's Prize of World Vision Germany .

Rita Pawelski is the federal election commissioner for the 2017 social security elections.
