Robert Borgmann

Robert Borgmann (* 1980 in Erfurt ) is a German director.

Life and education

Borgmann was born in Erfurt in 1980. He studied fine arts in London, as well as philosophy and German at the University of Cologne . After dramaturgy and assistant director at the Cologne Theater study directing followed at the Academy of Dramatic Arts "Ernst Busch" Berlin . During his studies he directed a. a. at the HAU Berlin and at the Berlin bat studio theater ( Shakespeare's  " Was ihr wollt " - nominated for the Friedrich Luft Prize). He then worked as a director at the Staatstheater Mainz , Deutsches Theater Berlin , Schauspiel Köln , Schauspielhaus Wien , Schauspielhaus Zürich , Centraltheater Leipzig , Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin , Staatstheater Stuttgart and Theater Basel . In 2016 he staged Mozart's  “ Così fan tutte ” at the Deutsche Oper Berlin . In 2015 Robert Borgmann brought the world premiere of Ewald Palmetshofer's "The Unmarried" to the stage in the Vienna Akademietheater , invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen 2015. In January 2018, Borgmann's production of Franz Kafka's Palace premiered in Frankfurt.
