Robert Rheinen

Robert Rheinen Jr. (* April 16, 1844 in Mülheim an der Ruhr ; † March 16, 1920 ) was a German local researcher and art collector.

Life

Robert Rheinen Jr. was the son of the eponymous mayor Robert Rheinen (1811-1890) of the community of Mülheim-Land. Robert Rheinen was one of the founders of the Mülheim History Association and in 1909 the founder of the Municipal Museum in Mülheim an der Ruhr, today's art museum . His private collection formed the basis of the museum, of which he was the first director, and comprised 1,385 items including wooden items, paintings, weavings, embroidery, metal items, ceramic items, and books.

His estate is in the Mülheim city archive.
