Robert Bridge "Bob" Richardson (born August 27, 1955 in Hyannis , Massachusetts ) is an American cameraman .

Life

Richardson was best known for his collaboration with director Oliver Stone . These films earned him his first Academy Award nominations for Platoon ( 1987 ) and Born on July 4th ( 1990 ) and his first Academy Award in 1992 for the film JFK - Tatort Dallas .

In 2005 he received his second Oscar for Martin Scorsese's Aviator , and in 2010 another nomination for his work on Inglourious Basterds by Quentin Tarantino . He won his third Oscar in 2012 for his renewed collaboration with Scorsese on Hugo Cabret . At the 2016 Academy Awards , he was nominated again for his work on The Hateful Eight with Quentin Tarantino.

In 2019, Richardson was honored with the ASC Lifetime Achievement Award . He received his tenth Oscar nomination for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood .
