Robert Zurbriggen
Robert Zurbriggen (born March 16, 1917 in Saas-Fee ; † April 21, 1952 ) was a Swiss officer and skier.
In 1946 he won the ski patrol race together with Louis Bourban , Franz Bumann and Leo Supersaxo as part of the 1st international ski race in Zermatt after the Second World War . At the Olympic Winter Games in 1948 he was the captain of the Swiss team in the military patrol race , which won the gold medal in this discipline , together with his brother Heinrich , Vital Vouardoux and Arnold Andenmatten . In cross-country skiing he achieved fifth place in the 4 × 10 km relay together with Niklaus Stump , Max Müller and Edi Schild and 26th in 18 km cross-country skiing.
Together with Adrian Andenmatten , Hubert Bumann and Josef Supersaxo , he set up the first mobile ski lift in the Saas-Fee region in the winter of 1948/49 . In 1953, Bergbahnen Saas Fee AG was founded from the company . In 1949 Zurbriggen also won the military ski patrol run of the Olympic revenge in Oslo in a team with Arnold Andenmatten, Karl Hischier and Karl Bricker .
From the end of 1949 he was used as an instruction officer (first lieutenant) for the mountain war in Kashmir . He died while exercising his profession as a mountain guide .
