Roberto Punčec (born October 27, 1991 in Varaždin ) is a Croatian football player . Until 2017 he was under contract with the German second division club 1. FC Union Berlin . Then he went to HNK Rijeka .

Career

In the club

In his youth, Punčec played for NK Varaždin . From 2008 he was in the professional squad of the Croatian first division club. In 2011 he moved to the Israeli first division club Maccabi Tel Aviv . In addition to 14 league games and two games in the championship round, he also made five appearances in the UEFA Europa League . In the summer of 2012 he was loaned to the German second division club 1. FC Union Berlin and was firmly committed in the following season. His contract expired in the summer of 2017. He has been playing for the Croatian first division club HNK Rijeka since July 4, 2017, and his contract expires on June 15, 2020.

National team

Punčec went through all youth national teams of the Croatian Football Association from the U-16. He participated in both the 2010 U-19 European Championship in France and the 2011 U-20 World Cup in Colombia. He also played for the Croatian U-21 national team.
