Roger Wedge

Roger H. Keil (* 1957 ) is a German-Canadian political scientist and urban researcher . He is a professor in the Faculty of Environmental Studies at York University in Toronto. He is also director of the City Institute and director of the Canadian Center for German and European Studies at York University in Toronto.

Life

Keil's research essentially deals with processes of urban development, especially in the context of negotiation processes for the political control of global cities . Since the 1990s he has also been concerned with the global phenomenon of suburbanization and the concept of the in- between cities . In the early 2000s, he expanded his research to include the relationships between global cities and the spread of infectious diseases . Keil has always carried out numerous researches on political ecology , influenced by his chair at the Faculty of Environmental Studies at York University . Roger Keil is co-founder of the International Network for Urban Research and Action INURA and co-editor of the International Journal of Urban and Regional Research.
