Team Rokado was a German cycling team that existed from 1972 to 1975.
history
The team's main sponsor was a slatted frame manufacturer based in Holzwickede , North Rhine-Westphalia . The company Rokado name is on the business owner Ro bert Ka hl ( Thu due rtmund). In 1973, Kahl briefly sponsored another German professional team called Ha-Ro . At the end of April 1973, all drivers (including Karl-Heinz Muddemann , Alfred Gaida , Hennie Kuiper , Roger Gilson and others) were integrated into the Rokado team. The background to this was that the Union Cycliste International (UCI) had repealed the rule according to which professional drivers from Germany and Switzerland had an unlimited right to start in two different teams.
Due to the lack of success, the company withdrew as main sponsor at the end of 1975 and in 1976 was still a co-sponsor of the Belgian team Maes-Rokado . The company was bought by the Belgian group Recticel .
