Roland Goeschl

Roland Goeschl (born November 25, 1932 in Salzburg , † December 25, 2016 in Vienna ) was an Austrian sculptor , painter and art scholar .

life and work

In 1954, Roland Goeschl attended the International Summer Academy for Fine Arts in Salzburg under Giacomo Manzù and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Fritz Wotruba from 1956–60 . He took part in the symposium of European sculptors 1961–1963 in Berlin and in 1962 at the Royal College of Art in London. Roland Goeschl was a participant in documenta III in 1964 and in the 4th documenta in 1968 in Kassel .

From 1972 Goeschl was a full professor at the Institute for Art and Design at the Technical University of Vienna . He lived in Vienna .

Since 1960 Goeschl has been present with exhibitions in Austrian culture. He became internationally known for his sculptures in the colors blue, yellow and red. He also designed the Humanic logo and designed the facade of the Humanic house in Favoritenstraße 126. Since a donation in April 2011, most of the works by Roland Goeschl in the collection of the Austrian Gallery Belvedere .
