Roland von Flüe

Roland von Flüe (born September 4, 1961 in Wohlen ) is a Swiss jazz musician ( tenor saxophone , clarinet , bass clarinet , flute ).

Von Flüe grew up in Sachseln and received his first clarinet lessons at the age of 12. He graduated from the Swiss Jazz School in Bern , where he was trained by Urs Leimgruber and Andy Scherrer . With own groups he joined in concerts and on Swiss festivals such as the Lucerne Festival , Jazz Festival Willisau or Alpentöne Festival in Altdorf on. He also realized projects in the field of classical jazz, multimedia crossover , sampling and live electronic . He has also worked with Kaspar Ewald's Exorbitantem Kabinett, the Zurich Jazz Orchestra , Folka , Regula Schneider and Andy Harder and has recorded with Peggy Chew, Albin Bruns Alpin Quintett and Paul Haag . He also works as a teacher at the Lucerne School of Music and the Sarnen Music School .
