Rolf Koschorrek (born June 17, 1956 in Bad Bramstedt ; † January 12, 2020 in Berlin ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

education and profession

After graduating from the Jürgen-Fuhlendorf-Schule in Bad Bramstedt in 1975, Koschorrek completed an apprenticeship as a dental technician in Kiel until 1978 and then worked in his learned profession until 1981. In 1981 he began studying dentistry at the Georg-August University in Göttingen , which he finished in 1986. He then worked as an assistant doctor in Braunschweig and had his own practice as a dentist in Bad Bramstedt since 1989 . In 1991 he received his doctorate as Dr. med. dent. at the University of Göttingen with the thesis "Tissue Polypeptide Antigen in the cerebrospinal fluid and in the serum in various neurological diseases" .

Rolf Koschorrek had a daughter.

Political party

Koschorrek joined the CDU in 1983 and has been a member of the CDU state executive in Schleswig-Holstein since 2006 . Since 2006, he has also been a member of the federal board of the SME and Business Association (MIT) of the CDU / CSU and its co-chair of the Health Commission.

Koschorrek had been a member of the city ​​council of his hometown Bad Bramstedt since 1994 and was also deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group .

Since 2005 he has been a member of the German Bundestag . In 2005 and 2009 he was elected directly to the Bundestag in the constituency of Steinburg - Dithmarschen Süd .

Since 2009 he has been the deputy health policy spokesman for the CDU / CSU parliamentary group.

In November 2012, he was not re-elected as a direct candidate for the 2013 federal election in his constituency . The reasons given for voting behavior were the extent of his secondary employment and income (see below) as well as insufficient presence in the constituency. Koschorrek did not see his work as a member of parliament being restricted by the sideline activities; the absence was due to illness.

Koschorrek was a member of the European Union parliamentary group of the German Bundestag . Furthermore, he was President of the Federal Association of Liberal Professions (BFB) and the Free Association of German Dentists (FVDZ) since January 1, 2012 .

Further sideline activities

During his mandate in the Bundestag, Koschorrek gave 54 lectures, for which he received fees of at least 64,000 euros. The clients included companies and associations from the healthcare industry, including AstraZeneca , Pfizer , UCB , Novartis , the Association of the German Dental Industry , B. Braun Melsungen and Genomic Health .

He was also the head of the Berlin office of the German Association of Otolaryngologists (BVHNO) and the German Society for Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery (DGHNO).
