Ron Fricke

Ron Fricke is an American filmmaker and cameraman who is considered a master of time-lapse and large-format cinema.

He was cameraman for the film Koyaanisqatsi (1982) and director of the language and narrator-free documentary Baraka (1992). He developed and used his own 70mm camera equipment for Baraka and his previous projects such as the IMAX films Chronos (1985) and Sacred Site (1986). He was hired as cameraman by George Lucas for Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith . As the successor to Baraka , Samsara , Fricke and his team worked for over 4 years. The film was released in 2012.
