Ronald Joseph Livingston (born June 5, 1968 in Cedar Rapids , Iowa ) is an American actor .

Life and accomplishments

Ron Livingston's father was an aviation engineer. Ron Livingston graduated from Marion High School , then studied drama and English at Yale University . During this time he was already playing in several plays. After graduating in 1989, he moved to Chicago where he continued to appear in plays. He played his first film role alongside Dolly Parton and James Woods in the 1992 comedy Sag's Open, Shirlee .

Livingston played the lead role in the comedy Alles Routine (1999), the programmer Peter Gibbons , who meets with Joanna ( Jennifer Aniston ). For his role as Captain Lewis Nixon in the miniseries Band of Brothers (2001), he was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in 2002. In Spike Jonze's adaptation. he took on the role of Hollywood agent Marty Bowen . In 2003 he played the role of Jack Berger , a lover of Carrie Bradshaw ( Sarah Jessica Parker ) in several episodes of the television series Sex and the City . In 2009 he had one of the leading roles in the short-lived science fiction series Defying Gravity . Livingston was 2012 for James Wan horror - thriller The Conjuring alongside Lili Taylor on camera.

On November 2, 2009, he married his colleague Rosemarie DeWitt in San Francisco , whom he met while filming the TV series Standoff . His younger brother, John Livingston (* 1970), is also an actor.
