Rosetter Gleason Cole

Rosetter Gleason Cole (born February 5, 1866 in Clyde , Michigan , † May 18, 1952 in Lake Bluff , Illinois ) was an American composer .

Cole studied with Calvin Brainerd Cady and from 1890 to 1892 with Max Bruch in Berlin . He then worked as a music teacher and finally lived in Chicago as a composer, music writer and composition teacher.

The most famous work by Cole is the cantata Heroes of Freedom . He also composed an opera , a symphonic prelude , a heroic piece , an overture , a ballad for cello and orchestra, piano and organ pieces and songs .
