Royal Pains is an American drama series starring Mark Feuerstein in the role of the young doctor Henry "Hank" Lawson, who loses his job in a clinic due to a controversial decision and moves to the Hamptons with his younger brother Evan Lawson . It is there that Hank becomes a general practitioner for the rich and famous after he saves the life of a woman at a party.

In early November 2014, the production of a seventh and eighth season with eight episodes each was announced. In March 2016, the USA Network decided to end the series after the eighth season. The series finale ran on July 6, 2016.

action

At the beginning of the series, Dr. Henry "Hank" Lawson is a practicing physician at a Brooklyn hospital. However, he is released in the first episode. This is because he prefers treating an unstable patient to the hospital's main sponsor, which he has already stabilized. However, due to a chain of unfortunate circumstances, this main sponsor loses his life and Hank is fired.
By spreading this incident through the hospital management, Hank is also unable to find a new job, although he is a very talented doctor. Hit by this fate, Hank sinks into melancholy. His fiancée cancels the planned wedding and separates from him, he goes into debt and spends most of his time drinking beer in front of the television.
That changes the day his brother Evan takes him to a party in the Hamptons. This is organized by a German living there who only calls himself "Boris". Boris is very careful about discretion and attaches great importance to privacy. When one of the female guests at the party collapses and Boris' private doctor only diagnoses substance abuse, Hank steps in, seeing that the young woman has been poisoned. He treats her and thus saves her from drug abuse therapy.
Since this treatment, Hank has been pushed into the role of the private doctor of the "rich and beautiful". With the help of his somewhat pushy brother and the medical-technical assistant Divya Katdare, after initial indecision, he decided to open the company HankMed (a mobile medical service), which is primarily available to the rich, but also to the less well-off residents of the Hamptons. He was persuaded to stay by the director of the local hospital, Jill Casey, whom he met at the party and with whom he has a somewhat complicated relationship during the series.

Cast and dubbing

The German synchronization occurs under the dialogue director Marius Clarén, Benedict Rabanus and Peter Woratz by the synchronous company Scala Media GmbH in Berlin .
