Rudi Czerwenka

Rudi Czerwenka (born April 4, 1927 in Breslau ; † February 1, 2017 in Greifswald ) was a German writer , journalist and screenwriter who also published under the pseudonym Rudolf Wenk .

Rudi Czerwenka grew up near Wroclaw and was unable to finish his high school diploma due to being drafted into the Wehrmacht . He was an anti-aircraft helper and soldier, then an American prisoner of war. After the war he did an apprenticeship as a chef in Jena , became a people's police officer and, after a short training course, became a new teacher in Kröpelin , Spoldershagen and Bad Sülze .

He published his first two books for children and young people in 1959/60 under a pseudonym. From the mid-1970s he worked for the press, radio, theater and GDR television , from 1983 to 2013 he was a freelance writer and journalist in Rostock . Since 2013 he lived in Ahlbeck .
