Rudi Spring (born March 17, 1962 in Lindau (Bodensee) ) is a German composer , pianist and music teacher.

Life

Rudi Spring received his first piano and composition lessons from 1971 from Alfred Kuppelmayer (1918–1977). In 1978 he began studying chamber music in Bregenz with Heinrich Schiff , with whom he also worked as a duo partner and composer. From 1981 to 1986 he studied composition with Wilhelm Killmayer and Heinz Winbeck and piano with Karl-Hermann Mrongovius at the Munich Music Academy . In 1987 he became a lecturer at the university, initially for accompaniment , later for aural training , analysis and tone systematics (following on from Hermann Pfrogner's interest in non- tempered tunings). Since 1999 he has been a lecturer in song design there .

From 1985 to 2003 he had an intensive duo partnership with the violinist Erich Höbarth. Since 1994, his musical work has shaped his collaboration with the accordionist Maria Reiter .

In 2000 Bach was released three times , a triple CD with piano music mainly by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, flanked by works by his father Johann Sebastian and his brother Wilhelm Friedemann. The triple CD Auf Schubert's Track followed in 2003/2004, dedicated to the piano sonatas period 1823–1826, and in 2009 " MiniaturVertrauen " , a solo CD with piano music by Jean Sibelius. Spring recorded three CDs together with the singer Salome Kammer: 2006/07 I hate music , 2008 Salomix-max , 2011/2013 I'm a stranger here myself . In 2008, two of his songs were released on a CD by Salome Kammer , along with music by Cole Porter , Luciano Berio , Alban Berg and others.

In 2009 he accompanied Salome Kammer at the Rheingau Music Festival in songs and chansons from the 1920s to 1940s. He was the pianist in a trio concert in Gasteig , with Jens Josef (flute) and Graham Waterhouse (cello). They played Martinůs Trio, the first performance of the flute version of Gestural Variations by Waterhouse, as well as a Christmas carol arrangement by the three composers. Spring continued Maria went through a thorn forest . Rudi Spring advocates characteristic, but neglected song repertoire, especially in the context of his university activities. B. for the work of Konrad Ansorge, Frederick Delius, Albert Roussel, Florent Schmitt, Carl Nielsen, Wilhelm Stenhammar, Jean Sibelius, Hans Pfitzner, Alexander Zemlinsky, Ludwig Thuille, Peter Cornelius and Robert Franz.

Rudi Spring lives with his family in Munich.
