Rudolf Boehmler

Rudolf Böhmler (born January 3, 1946 in Schwäbisch Gmünd ) is a German lawyer. Since March 2015 he has been chairman of the supervisory board of DRF Luftrettung . From 2007 to 2015 he was a member of the board of the Deutsche Bundesbank . Before that he was State Secretary and Head of the State Chancellery of the State of Baden-Württemberg .

Life

After training for the Baden-Wuerttemberg Advertisement of administrative services and professional activities in a community he put 1971 the Gifted High School and studied - funded by the studienstiftung - from 1971 to 1974 at the University of Tübingen Law . There he became a member of the Catholic student association KStV Alamannia (KV). He passed the state law exams in 1974 and 1977.

His professional career in the higher service of the Baden-Württemberg state administration began in 1977 at the district office in Göppingen . After his time at the Ministry of Science and Art of Baden-Württemberg as a consultant for international cooperation, he was personal assistant to State Secretary Paul H. Piazolo in the Federal Ministry of Education and Science . He then came to the State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg for the first time in 1983 and went through several stations there. On June 1, 1991 he was appointed head of the “European Policy and International Affairs and Protocol” department.

On November 1, 1995, he moved to the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and Art as head of office. On September 1, 2000, he became head of the State Chancellery in the Baden-Württemberg State Ministry. On June 13, 2001 he was awarded the official title of State Secretary . As the state representative for the reduction of bureaucracy , deregulation and the reduction of tasks ( ombudsman ), Böhmler took on additional tasks in summer 2004. Rudolf Böhmler was also the church commissioner of the Baden-Württemberg state government.

With effect from July 16, 2007, Rudolf Böhmler was appointed by the Federal President as a member of the Board of Management of the Deutsche Bundesbank. He succeeded Edgar Meister and initially took over the areas of administration and construction as well as auditing. Since May 2009 he has also been responsible for human resources and the training center (including the Deutsche Bundesbank University of Applied Sciences ). Equipped with these skills, he has meanwhile acquired the reputation of "Minister of the Interior" at the Bundesbank. In May 2010, Böhmler was also given responsibility for the areas of controlling, accounting and organization. In July 2012, Rudolf Böhmler was reappointed as the first candidate for a second term on the board of directors of the Deutsche Bundesbank, after having previously been certified by the Bundesbank, politics and the media as having done a good job. At Böhmler's request, the Board of Management of the Deutsche Bundesbank approved his early departure from office at the end of 2014.

On March 26, 2015, Rudolf Böhmer took over the chairmanship of the Supervisory Board of the DRF Foundation Air Rescue non-profit AG . Since October 2015 he has also been President of the DRF eV association with around 380,000 supporters nationwide.

Rudolf Böhmler has been a member of the standards control council of the Baden-Württemberg state government since January 2018.

Rudolf Böhmler is volunteer as chairman of the board of the James F. Byrnes Institute / German-American Center in Stuttgart; In addition, he is culturally involved in his hometown Schwäbisch Gmünd.

Rudolf Böhmler is married and has two sons with his wife Renate.
