Rudolf Jaworski

Rudolf Jaworski (born May 9, 1944 in Lissa ) is a German historian .

Life

Jaworski was born in the German-occupied Wartheland . He studied history and German in Tübingen and Vienna and received his doctorate in 1975. In 1984 he received his habilitation at the University of Tübingen. From 1975 to 1987 Jaworski was a research assistant and lecturer at the Institute for Eastern European History and Regional Studies at the University of Tübingen and from 1987 to 2009 director of the Department of Eastern European History at the University of Kiel .

Jaworski works primarily on the recent history of East Central Europe and Germany's relations with this region. Some of his writings have also been published in translation in Poland and the Czech Republic.

Jaworski lives in Constance .
