Rudolf Leip (born June 8, 1890 in Dresden ; † March 5, 1947 ) was a German football player .
Career

From 1908 to 1944, Leip belonged to Guts Muts Dresden as a right-winger , for whom he was again in the championships organized by the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs until the end of the 1917/18 season in the East Saxony district , from the 1920/21 season in the East Saxony district , from 1925 to 1933 again played point games in the Gau Ostsachsen.
As a champion emerged from the Gau East Saxony in 1923, he and his team took part in the final round of the Central German Championship , which he won on April 29, 1923 with the 1-0 final victory over VfB Leipzig . As a result, he and his team took part in the final round of the German championship and was only used in the 0-2 quarter-final defeat on May 13, 1923 in Altona against Hamburger SV .
From 1933 to 1940 and in the 1941/42 season he played in the Gauliga Sachsen , in one of initially 16, later increased to 23 Gauligen at the time of National Socialism as the uniform top division in the German Reich . In the first three seasons he finished the season in fourth place, which means the best placement in the Gauliga. With the team he was relegated twice to the second-rate district league , in which he also ended his active football career in 1944.

As a player in the national team of the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs, he was used in games for the Federal Cup in 1922 and in the semi-finals in 1923.
Leip denied three international matches for the senior national team , where he made his debut on August 12, 1923 in Dresden in the 1: 2 defeat against the national team of Finland at the age of 33 and occupied the external positions together with Hans Sutor . In his second international match, which was played in Hamburg on November 4, 1923 and won 1-0 against the Norwegian national team , he occupied the wing positions together with club teammate Martin Reissmann . His last appearance as a national player was on August 31, 1924 at the age of 34 when 1. FC Nürnberg and SpVgg Fürth struck the national team; the test match in Berlin was lost to the Swedish national team with 1: 4.
