Round nose

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Round nose is a term used in the gardening trade with which the bulbs of the daffodils are designated and classified. The nose of the bulb is the name given to the ends of the bulbs from which the leaves emerged. The onion is round but has only one nose. Accordingly, it will only develop a group of leaves and an inflorescence in the first year .

Usually round noses are not traded yet. Only class 3 and 9 daffodils are generally available in this form. On the other hand, what is known as the double nose is more typical of traded daffodils .
