from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Under runes seal is understood that inscription contents in runic writing, which are written in verse. The rune poetry precedes the Latin writing of the allotted verse , which began in the 8th century, by three centuries. It extends from the 5th to the 14th century.

Most of the inscriptions with rune seals can be found in Sweden and Norway . In Denmark they are rarer and outside of Scandinavia there are very few certificates. A total of about 500 lines have survived.
