Rupert Angermair

Rupert Angermair (born January 28, 1899 in Garching near Munich ; † May 6, 1966 ) was a German Catholic moral theologian and specialist book author.

Career

Angermair studied at the Philosophical-Theological University Freising and at the Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg . He was ordained a priest on June 29, 1924 in Freising Cathedral . Then he was chaplain in the Munich parish of St. Sylvester and taught at the seminary in Freising. In 1929 he became a teacher at the technical school of the German Caritas Association in Freiburg. During this time he did his PhD. theol. and qualified as a professor in moral theology.

In 1934 he was entrusted with the management of the Institute for Caritas Studies and for two years with the representation of the chair for moral theology at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg. From 1937 he was a consultant for Caritas theology and village caritas at the German Caritas Association. After the end of the Second World War he returned to Freising and was associate professor from 1945 and full professor for moral theology at PTH Freising from 1948. He retired at the end of 1964.
