Ruth Millar

Ruth Laura Millar (* 1975 in Glasgow ) is a British actress .

life and career

Ruth Millar was in the Scottish born Glasgow and raised on. She attended London's Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design , from which she graduated in 1996 with a degree in fine arts .

After leaving art school, Millar formed Wee Lassie Productions, a production company showcasing the best in acting and writing talent. The exhibition only took place for one night at the Groucho Club in London. There Millar was discovered by an agent and got her first role as an actress as a punto girl for the Fiat brand in one of the most successful advertising campaigns of the year.

After this success, Millar played as Jess Rossi with great success in the television series Glasgow Kiss alongside Iain Glen and Sharon Small . In the BAFTA award-winning series North Square , she had her next leading role as Morag Black, alongside Philip Davis , Helen McCrory , Rupert Penry-Jones and Kevin McKidd .

Millar played from then on in several television series such as Life on Mars - Caught in the 70s , Footballers' Wives or Monarch of the Glen . In 2002 she starred alongside Ewan McGregor in the Channel 4 short film Solid Geometry . Millar's most recent films include the avant-garde film Love Live Long and Broken Lines alongside Paul Bettany (both in 2008).

Millar is married and has a daughter (* 2008). She currently lives in San Francisco and London.
