Ryan Parent (born March 17, 1987 in Prince Albert , Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been with the Anaheim Ducks in the National Hockey League since January 2013 .
Career
The 1.88 m tall defender began his career with the Guelph Storm before being selected 18th in the first round by the Nashville Predators in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft . During the 2005/06 season, the left shooter moved to the Nashville farm team , the Milwaukee Admirals , but it was not enough for a time in the NHL. After the play-offs in the American Hockey League Parent returned to the Guelph Storm.
Parent came back into conversation on February 15, 2007, when the Canadian was transferred to the Philadelphia Flyers together with Scottie Upshall and two draft picks for the NHL Entry Draft 2007 in exchange for NHL superstar Peter Forsberg , the defenders initially mainly with their lower class Use farm teams.
In June 2010 he was first transferred to the Nashville Predators , which gave him in October 2010 to the Vancouver Canucks . The 2010/11 season he began with four games for the Canucks in the NHL, then he was sent to the Manitoba Moose in the AHL.
In January 2013, Parent was awarded a contract for the 2012/13 season by the Anaheim Ducks .
International
At the U20 World Championships in 2006 and 2007 , Ryan Parent won the gold medal with the Canadian national team .
