Numerous sports were organized under its roof, including football , handball , ice hockey , gymnastics , swimming , diving and athletics . Most of the club's young athletes attended the KJS in Rostock during GDR times , to which several boarding schools were connected. Many top athletes were housed in a high-rise, the Sportforum, near the Ostseestadions. Some studied at the branch office of the DHfK Leipzig , which was also located near the sports forum. The clubs that emerged from the sports club that was dissolved in 1999 are:

  • FC Hansa Rostock (soccer) - During the 1954/1955 season, the top division team of BSG Empor Lauter was delegated to Rostock and incorporated into the recently founded club SC Empor Rostock .
