SK Schwäbisch Hall

The Schwäbisch Hall chess club was founded in Schwäbisch Hall in 1936 . Today the club has around 70 members and since the 2018/19 season has only had a team in the top division, the 1st women's Bundesliga, in women's games.

Teams

The first team of SK Schwäbisch Hall played in the German 1st Bundesliga from 2014/15 to the 2017/18 season . After the 2013/14 promotion season, Schwäbisch Hall reached fourth place in the 2014/15 season and the following season . The team also came fourth in the 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 seasons. After the 2017/18 season, which ended in eighth place, the team was withdrawn from the Bundesliga.

The women's team at SK Schwäbisch Hall has played in the women's first division since the 2014/15 season and was runner-up there in 2015/16 . The women won the title in the 2016/17 season.

The club has its own youth department.

Venue

Training and home games for men I-III take place in the house of the clubs (Am Schuppach 7), the home games of the women's Bundesliga are played by SK Schwäbisch Hall in the foyer of Bausparkasse Schwäbisch Hall (Crailsheimer Straße 52).
