The SV Stegersbach is an Austrian football club in Burgenland Stegersbach . Since the 2019/20 season, the club has been playing in the second league south, the fifth highest league in Austria.
history
The SV Stegersbach was founded in 1929 by the innkeeper Adolf Neubauer and the teachers Johann Leirer, Emmerich Matthauser and Kurt Groß . The club celebrated its first major success in 2003/04 when it was promoted to the second league south championship in the fourth-class regional league Burgenland . As part of this, a new grandstand was opened in October 2006 with 470 covered seats and 200 standing places. In 2007/08, the club was able to rise to the Regional League East as champions of the Burgenland regional league, but had to relegate to the regional league after only one year . In 2010/2011 the club was again champion of the Burgenland League and played again in Austria's third-highest league from the 2011/2012 season. After a 14th place in the 2014/15 season , Stegersbach again relegated to the Burgenland League.
