Saldán is a suburb of the Argentine city of Córdoba , in the Sierras-Chicas region. It is located directly northwest of the city limits and borders Dumesnil (district of La Calera ) in the south and Villa Allende in the north . Administratively, it belongs to the Department of Colón .

Saldán is located at the mouth of the Arroyo Saldán stream in the Río Suquía , in a hilly to mountainous area. To the west lies the Sierra Chica , which forms a natural barrier for the further development of the place. The eastern part of Saldán already belongs to the city of Córdoba, the part outside the urban area has 2,099 inhabitants.

The only attraction is the Portón de Piedra , a stone viaduct that stretches over the Arroyo Saldán in a gorge.

The Quinta de Saldán , a holiday home from the 18th century that has now been destroyed, was home to numerous important figures from Argentina, the most famous of which was General José de San Martín , the most famous freedom fighter of the Wars of Independence (1810-1816).
