Salim bin Laden
Salim bin Laden ( Arabic سالم بن محمد بن عواد بن لادن, DMG Sālim bin Muḥammad bin ʿAwād bin Lādin ; * 1946 ; † May 29, 1988 ) was a Saudi Arabian investor and businessman and the oldest half-brother of Osama bin Laden . He was killed in an ultralight aircraft accident near San Antonio , Texas in 1988 .
From 1972 until his death, Salim bin Laden headed the Saudi Binladin Group , a family business founded by his father Muhammad bin Laden . Salim's successor as CEO is his brother Bakr bin Laden .
As an investor through companies such as the Carlyle Group, he did business closely with George Bush Sr. connected, but the holdings were sold after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 . He was also a partner in George W. Bush's first company ( Arbusto Energy Oil - Arbusto (Spanish) = Busch) and allegedly helped him financially several times.
Salim bin Laden's US wealth managers were Chalid bin Mahfuz and James R. Bath .
