Sam Brown (born October 7, 1964 in Stratford , London , England ; actually Samantha Brown ) is an English singer and songwriter .

Life

Sam Brown is the daughter of English rock and roll singer Joe Brown and singer Vicki Brown and the sister of musician and producer Pete Brown.

Brown celebrated her greatest success in 1988. The single Stop! from her debut album of the same name reached the top ten hit parades in many countries . In Great Britain it made it to number 4, in Germany it came to number 7. The song Stop! is part of the soundtrack for the film Bitter Moon . The singer Jamelia brought out a cover version of this song in the summer of 2003 .

In 2002 she took part both in the concert for the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace and in the concert for George in memory of George Harrison, who died the year before . Her interpretation of Harrison's last song Horse to the Water can only be seen in the film compilation of the concert for George Harrison.

Sam Brown is also active as a background singer and has worked with many well-known musicians, including Pink Floyd , David Gilmour , Jon Lord , Deep Purple , Black , Gary Moore , George Harrison , Fish and Jools Holland ( Jools Holland's Big Band Rhythm & Blues ).

Sam Brown is married to music producer Robin Evans, with whom she has two children.
