Samantha Retrosi

Samantha Retrosi (born December 12, 1985 in Saratoga ) is a former American luge athlete .

Samantha Retrosi, US junior luge and junior champion in 2002 and 2003, lives in Saranac Lake . She competed in international competitions from 2002 to 2007. At the Junior World Championships in 2005, she finished fourth and barely missed a medal. In 2004 and 2006 she was US runner-up. Retrosi had her best World Cup season in 2005/06 . During the season she achieved her best World Cup result, a fourth place in Lake Placid and a third place with the team in the same place. In the 2006 Olympic Games of Turin are Retrosi crashed in the second run hard and had to be hospitalized, but had no serious injuries.

In June 2007 Retrosi announced her retirement from competitive sports and began studying sociology at George Mason University .
