Peony pelvis fruit ( Paeonia officinalis )

Arise in a flowering of two or more carpels several intergrown or the floral axis connected follicles , then one speaks of a Sammelbalgfrucht . Follicles always arise from upper ovaries . Since the individual follicles open when the seeds ripen, follicle and pelvic fruits belong to the opening fruits .

Fruits of the pelvis are found in many magnolia-like plants , buttercups ( delphinium , globe flower, etc.), peonies and sparrows .

The apple fruit is a special form of the pelvis fruit . In this case, the bellows are not free, but are connected or enclosed by axle fabric. Depending on the type of fruit or variety (e.g. apples), however, the tendency for the bellows to open can still be seen on the cross-section of the fruit.
