Sara Kestelman , sometimes also Sarah Kestelman , (born May 12, 1944 in London ) is a British actress with character roles in film, television and the theater. She became internationally known for her roles in the cinema productions Zardoz , Lisztomania and Lady Jane - Queen for Nine Days .

life and career

Kestelman began her acting career in the late 1960s at famous theaters in London and Manchester . Including engagements in such well-known houses as the Royal National Theater or the Royal Shakespeare Theater . She celebrated great success with the Royal Shakespeare Company and received excellent reviews for many performances such as "Fiddler on the Roof" or "Nine". For "Cabaret" - she received prestigious awards, prizes and honors.

She was discovered for film in the mid-1970s and John Boorman gave her the role of May in his science fiction drama Zardoz . In 1975 she played Princess Carolyn on the side of Roger Daltrey in Ken Russell's film Lisztomania . In 1977 she was nominated for the Australian Film Institute Award in the category "Best Actress in a Lead Role" for "Break of Day". She cast Trevor Nunn in 1986 in the role of Frances Gray, Duchess of Suffolk in his film Lady Jane - Queen for Nine Days .
