Sarah Reid

Sarah Reid (born June 2, 1987 in Calgary ) is a Canadian skeleton pilot .

Sarah Reid lives in Calgary and is trained by Willi Schneider , Nathan Cicoria and Mike Steen. She has been running skeleton since 2003 after she was discovered at a talent camp, and has been a member of Canada's national squad since 2005. In December 2003 she made her debut as part of the America's Cup races in Park City (14th and 17th) in international skeleton competitions. Two years later she was third overall in the competition. She also competed in several races in the European Skeleton Cup . In the following season , she finished third in the overall standings in this competition. In Königssee she won one of the European Cup races. In January 2007 , Reid made his debut in Nagano in the Skeleton World Cup . She finished fourth in her first race. In December 2007 Reid was third in the newly established Skeleton Intercontinental Cup in Winterberg . At the Junior World Championships in Igls , the Canadian won the title and shortly afterwards was eighth at the Skeleton World Championships in Altenberg in 2008 . In the 2008/09 season Reid started regularly in the World Cup, but only achieved a single-digit placement in eighth place in Altenberg. In 2009/10 it was used primarily in the Skeleton Intercontinental Cup . In Lake Placid she won one of the season races, as well as a race in St. Moritz in the European Cup. At the 2010 Junior World Championships, Reid was runner-up behind Tina Hermann . At the Olympic Games in Vancouver Reid was used as a forerunner.
